I was invited to teach an online class in a series by Instituto Feldenkrais Alumni. This is my Feldenkrais Method Alma Mater so to say, I received my Feldenkrais Practitioner’s diploma from them, so it was a very nice occasion.
I will be teaching an ATM which I call for myself “A Strange Loop”. It was inspired partly by this quote:
“Poised midway between the unvisualizable cosmic vastness of curved spacetime and the dubious shadowy flickerings of charged quanta, we human beings, more like rainbows and mirages than like raindrops or boulders, are unpredictable self-writing poems – vague, metaphorical, ambiguous, sometimes exceedingly beautiful.” ― Douglas R. Hofstadter, I Am a Strange Loop
I challenged myself to express this deep and abstract idea as a classic Awareness Through Movement lesson. Moving, not talking. I tested the lesson on my regular ATM students in London, ON and the feedback was quite positive. Let’s see how it works on-line on Sunday May 3rd. Here is the link to register (EUR5): https://www.feldenkrais-institute.com/event/sunday-feldenkrais-atm, also check out their other Sunday classes.
